 About The Role

We're seeking an exceptional founding AI engineer to build and lead our AI capabilities from the ground up. As the first member of our AI team at a fulfillment logistics company, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape our AI strategy, architecture, and implementation while working directly with our proprietary ERP system and extensive operational data. 

This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, can move from strategy to implementation seamlessly, and has the technical depth to build production-grade AI systems that drive real business value. 

What You'll Do

• Build from Zero to One: Design and implement our AI infrastructure, starting with high-impact use cases in logistics optimization, demand forecasting, and operational intelligence
• Architect AI Systems: Develop and deploy agentic AI solutions, RAG pipelines, and vector-based search systems tailored to our fulfillment operations
• Integrate with Our ERP: Work hands-on with our proprietary ERP system to extract, transform, and leverage operational data for AI-driven insights and automation
• Drive Business Impact: Identify and prioritize AI opportunities that directly improve fulfillment speed, accuracy, inventory management, and customer satisfaction
• Set Technical Direction: Establish best practices, tooling choices, and architectural patterns that will scale as the team grows
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to understand pain points and deliver practical AI solutions
  

Qualifications

• Founding/Startup Experience: Proven track record in early-stage environments (founding engineer, first 5 employees, or similar) where you've built systems from scratch with minimal guidance (*Not a hard requirement)
• ERP Knowledge: Direct experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or proprietary systems), understanding data models, workflows, and integration patterns (*This is just an advantage but not required)
• Data Science Foundation: Strong background in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis with production deployment experience
• Modern AI Stack: Hands-on expertise with current LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex), vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma), and embedding models
• Agentic AI & RAG: Demonstrated experience building agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation systems, and autonomous decision-making AI applications
• Production Engineering: Ability to take models from prototype to production, including deployment, monitoring, and iteration

• Proficiency in Python and relevant ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search implementations
• Knowledge of MLOps tools and practices (experiment tracking, model versioning, deployment pipelines)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• SQL expertise and experience with data warehousing solutions
• Understanding of API design and integration patterns
