At Arctic Wolf, you won’t just watch the cybersecurity industry evolve – you'll help lead the change. Our global Pack is made up of people who thrive on solving hard problems, moving fast, and building technology that protects organizations around the world. We’re proud to be recognized by Forbes, CNBC, Fortune, CRN, Bartner Peer Insights and IDC MarketScape – but what matters most is the work behind it: delivering real outcomes for customers through award winning innovation like our Aurora Platform.

If you’re looking for meaningful work, smart teammates and the chance to make a real impact in a high-growth company that’s redefining security operations, Arctic Wolf is the right place for you!

Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk.

Role: Principal Engineer – AI Threat Intel Platform

We are seeking a Principal Engineer – AI Threat Intel Platform to provide deep technical leadership in designing and evolving next-generation AI-driven systems that detect and mitigate emerging risks such as fraud, abuse, and anomalous behavior at global scale.

This is a highly influential individual contributor role operating at the intersection of agentic AI systems, backend platform architecture, cloud-native scalability, and autonomous decision-making. You will define technical strategy, architect complex systems, and lead the design of LangChain/LangGraph-based reasoning frameworks, scalable backend platforms, MLOps pipelines, and autonomous AI agents that materially enhance Arctic Wolf’s proactive defense capabilities.

Candidates from cybersecurity, financial services, ad tech, or other large-scale data and risk platforms are strongly encouraged to apply.

About Arctic Wolf Labs

Arctic Wolf Labs is our research and innovation division, dedicated to advancing AI, automation, and data intelligence to further our mission to end cyber risk.

The Labs Engineering team works closely with AI researchers, data scientists, security experts, and core platform teams to invent and operationalize autonomous detection systems, agentic reasoning frameworks, large-scale microservices platforms, and advanced MLOps capabilities that push the boundaries of modern cyber defense.

About the Role

  • Act as a technical authority and system architect for the AI Threat Intel Platform, driving long-term architecture and design decisions.

  • Lead the design and evolution of AI-driven fraud, risk, and anomaly detection systems operating at scale.

  • Architect and build advanced agentic AI frameworks using LangChain, LangGraph, or similar technologies for reasoning, orchestration, and autonomous execution.

  • Design and guide implementation of highly scalable backend platforms and microservices using Python, Go, and cloud-native technologies.

  • Own architectural patterns for resilience, performance, observability, and security across distributed systems.

  • Design and influence event-driven, real-time pipelines using AWS services such as RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, EKS/Kubernetes, streaming, and messaging frameworks.

  • Define and evolve MLOps architecture, including model lifecycle management, deployment strategies, monitoring, and real-time inference at scale.

  • Drive integration of LLMs and autonomous agents for dynamic pattern detection, correlation, decision automation, and adaptive response.

  • Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and operational excellence across teams.

  • Partner with product, data science, threat intelligence, and platform leadership to align technical execution with business and security outcomes.

  • Lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority, influencing through expertise and collaboration.

  • Mentor senior and junior engineers, grow technical talent, and raise the overall engineering bar.

  • Contribute to R&D initiatives, technical reviews, architecture forums, demos, and innovation programs.

About You

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, backend/platform development, distributed systems, or applied machine learning.

  • Proven track record as a Senior Staff / Principal-level engineer driving architecture and delivering complex, high-impact systems.

  • Deep expertise in backend and distributed systems, including large-scale, real-time, or data-intensive platforms.

  • Strong experience with fraud detection, risk analytics, behavioral modeling, or anomaly detection in domains such as cybersecurity, fintech, or ad tech.

  • Hands-on experience designing or integrating agentic AI systems (LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar).

  • Expert-level programming skills in Python (preferred) and/or Go.

  • Strong understanding of ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn, with practical production experience.

  • Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and event-driven systems.

  • Deep knowledge of MLOps, data pipelines, feature engineering, model deployment, and observability.

  • Strong grasp of LLM orchestration, prompt strategies, evaluation, and AI system reliability.

  • Experience operating and scaling systems on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead ambiguous, high-impact initiatives independently.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Passion for mentoring, technical excellence, and building durable, future-proof platforms.

Don’t meet all the requirements? That’s okay! We still want you to apply. We have many opportunities, and we are always looking for top talent.

On-Camera Policy

To support a fair, transparent, and engaging interview experience, candidates interviewing remotely are expected to be on camera during all video interviews.
