Senior Manager in Applied Intelligence – AI4BI Techno-Functional

An AI4BI Techno-Functional Senior Manager shapes and leads GenAI-led Business Intelligence transformation programs. They own senior client relationships, solution strategy, governance and program delivery across conversational BI, proactive insights, semantic layers/metrics governance, and agentic analytics automation—translating business priorities into a scalable roadmap and ensuring secure, responsible and measurable outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own AI4BI program strategy and multi-workstream delivery: discovery, roadmap, operating model, governance, and scaled rollout.
  • Lead executive client conversations and workshops to articulate AI4BI capabilities, value proposition, and delivery approach (MVP → scale).
  • Translate business problems into end-to-end solution architecture across data products, semantic layer, BI experiences, and GenAI components.
  • Drive solutioning and estimations for pursuits: proposals, SOW scope, delivery plans, staffing model, milestones, risks and dependencies.
  • Define Responsible AI approach: safety and compliance controls, human-in-the-loop workflows, auditability, and observability/tracing for GenAI outputs.
  • Drive adoption and measurable impact: stakeholder alignment, training, enablement, comms, and success metrics (accuracy, groundedness, time-to-insight, reduction in ad-hoc BI requests).
  • Manage senior stakeholders across Business, IT, and Data.
  • Mentor and grow managers/leads; build reusable assets (playbooks, accelerators, demo narratives, governance templates).

Educational Background/Qualifications

  • B Tech/M Tech from reputed engineering colleges
  • Masters/M Tech in Computer Science
  • Master degree in Statistics/Econometrics/ Economics from reputed institute

Requirements

  • 12–16+ years of experience in Analytics/BI/Data programs, with 8+ years in client leadership and program delivery roles.
  • Proven experience leading GenAI initiatives for analytics/BI (conversational BI/NLQ, RAG, insight automation, or GenAI operating model).
  • Strong solutioning capability: ability to convert business objectives into technical roadmap, architecture choices, and delivery plan.
  • Working knowledge of BI and analytics lifecycle: requirements, modelling, dashboards, support, enhancement, and governance.
  • Understanding of semantic layer / metrics governance concepts (single source of truth, KPI definitions, versioning, stewardship).
  • Strong understanding of GenAI concepts and controls: prompt patterns, retrieval/grounding, evaluation methods, hallucination mitigation.
  • Experience across one or more data/BI ecosystems (e.g., Power BI/Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure/AWS/GCP) is preferred.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and team leadership; comfortable presenting to C-suite and steering committees.

Soft Skills

  • Strategic thinker with a delivery mindset and strong bias for measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent people manager and coach; fosters continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Clear, concise communicator able to translate technical tradeoffs to business stakeholders.
