Role Overview
ANGA is hiring its first dedicated technology leader. As Head of Tech & AI, you will own every technology decision across the company — from the internal MarTech products and automation systems that power our agency, to the technical SEO quality delivered to 100+ client brands. The role is primarily focused on internal product and platform development, with a supporting role in client-facing technical SEO leadership.
The ideal candidate combines deep SEO domain knowledge with a modern, AI-first approach to development. You don’t need to write every line of code — but you do need to architect systems, review code, make build-vs-buy decisions, and ship products using AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and similar IDE-integrated AI platforms. Responsibilities
Internal Tech, Product & AI
Product Ownership & Development
- Technical Decision-Making: Own all technology decisions across the company — architecture, tech stack selection, build-vs-buy, and infrastructure.
- Product Development: Build new internal SaaS and webapp products from scratch and continuously improve existing tools and platforms.
- AI-First Development: Lead development using AI-assisted IDEs (Cursor, Claude Code, Antigravity) as the primary approach — architecture decisions, code review, and shipping products at speed.
- Maintenance & Operations: Ensure all operating tools and platforms remain stable, performant, and continuously improved.
Automation & Data Infrastructure
- Automation Workflows: Design and build robust automation using N8N, Zapier, Make, and custom integrations to eliminate manual work across the agency.
- Data Architecture: Manage and scale data infrastructure including APIs, databases, BigQuery, and Marketing Cloud Platforms to create unified reporting ecosystems.
- Proprietary Tools: Spearhead development of proprietary tools that give ANGA a competitive advantage — streamlining workflows and automating repetitive tasks.
Team & AI Transformation
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the technical team, building a high-performing unit aligned with the agency’s fast-paced culture.
- AI Adoption: Drive AI adoption across all teams — ensuring AI tools are leveraged to reduce workloads, minimize time consumption, and increase output quality.
- Resource Optimization: Develop frameworks that use AI and automation to optimize resource allocation, reduce human error, and scale operations.
Technical SEO & Client Excellence
- Strategy & Auditing: Define strategy for comprehensive technical SEO audits and implementation roadmaps across the client portfolio.
- Algorithm Expertise: Act as the agency’s lead expert on search engine algorithm updates, translating shifts into actionable strategies for clients and teams.
- Performance Standards: Set and maintain quality standards for Core Web Vitals, site speed, crawlability, indexing, and schema markup across all client properties.
- Developer Collaboration: Oversee client-side and internal developers to ensure technical SEO requirements are implemented accurately.
- Client Communication: Join high-level client meetings as the key technical stakeholder when needed, translating complex issues into clear business insights. English proficiency is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in technology leadership, software engineering, or web development.
- Strong SEO background — deep understanding of technical SEO, search algorithms, and how search technologies work.
- Proven experience with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar IDE-integrated AI).
- Strong architecture and code review skills — ability to design systems and evaluate code quality without writing every line.
- Experience building and shipping web applications and SaaS products.
- Proficiency with modern web technologies (React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, WordPress).
- Experience with automation platforms (N8N, Zapier, Make) and data tools (BigQuery, APIs, databases).
- DevOps familiarity (CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containerization).
- Project management skills with experience managing cross-functional priorities and timelines.
- Experience in a digital agency or MarTech environment is a strong plus.
- English communication skills are a plus for occasional client-facing interactions.
