Chief Data & Strategy Officer (or equivalent C-level data executive)
The Head of Data & AI Governance and Enablement is responsible for driving the organization’s enterprise data and AI strategy, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and value realization from data assets. This role establishes governance frameworks, promotes data literacy, and enables innovation through analytics and AI, while ensuring alignment across business, technology, and risk management functions.
Develop and implement a comprehensive data and AI governance framework, including policies, standards, and stewardship practices aligned with enterprise objectives.
Lead the Data & AI Center of Excellence, fostering advanced analytics capability, model innovation, and best practices across business units.
Oversee strategic data and AI initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, measurable outcomes, and collaboration across cross-functional stakeholders.
Partner with enterprise architecture and IT teams to ensure data platforms, models, and governance frameworks are aligned with business priorities and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Monitor and enhance data quality, lineage, and integrity across key platforms and reporting environments.
Champion data literacy and responsible AI practices, embedding data-driven decision-making across departments.
Collaborate with Finance, Risk, and Business Transformation leaders to align data and analytics initiatives with organizational performance goals.
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, methodologies, and governance frameworks to improve efficiency and innovation readiness.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in data governance, analytics, or AI leadership roles within large or complex organizations.
Proven expertise in data strategy, enterprise data platforms, and data architecture.
Hands-on experience leading cross-functional data/AI initiatives from design to implementation.
Familiarity with industry-standard governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM, EDM Council).
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills.
Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, or telecommunications is an advantage.
Ability to balance governance discipline with innovation enablement, building a culture of data ethics and performance excellence.
