About the role<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>

We are expanding our team and have an exciting opportunity in our Shanghai office, for Dry Cargo Ship Brokers with proven experience in any vessel sizes. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a successful broking background in Dry Cargo ship broking. You will be personable, tenacious and a natural networker, having a proactive approach to generating leads and securing new business.<\/span><\/span>

Key responsibilities:<\/span>
<\/p>

  • Promote FIS as a company; providing market intelligence and analysis to clients<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Maintain and enhance existing client relationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activities<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Drive revenue and develop and enhance client base<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Understand the team’s business strategy and identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Undertake market analysis, providing market insight and trade ideas to clients<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Responsible for daily price discovery, dissemination and matching<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Create and write daily market reports as required<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Identify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationships<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Perform any other reasonable duties the company may require<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li><\/ul>

    • Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policies<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activities<\/span><\/span>

      Training<\/span>
      <\/div>
      • Seek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are met<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Complete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlines<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Maintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li><\/ul><\/span>

        Key competencies / skills
        <\/div>
        • Demonstrate successful track record of Dry Cargo shipbroking<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Strong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Good understanding of Dry Cargo markets – essential<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Experience in Handymax / Supramax or Panamax vessels - essential<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues combined with excellent negotiation skills<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Naturally team oriented; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Travel and attending client social events<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li><\/ul><\/span>
