Your responsibilities
1. Vessel Operation Coordination at site
- Responsible for the loading and discharging operations of MPP vessels at the port, including handling steel, equipment, and general/breakbulk cargo.
- Oversee cargo stowage planning, loading supervision, and discharging supervision to ensure operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Optimize space utilization and ensure the preservation of cargo quality.
2. Port Dispatch & Relationship Maintenance:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of domestic major ports, operational processes, and key personnel.
- Monitor progress of vessel and cargo operations and provide timely feedback to office.
- Maintain strong relationships with port personnel to facilitate port clearance and accelerate vessel turnaround.
3. Coordination & Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with shipowners, cargo owners, terminal operators, and agents.
- Coordinate and resolve issues arising during the vessel’s port stay, such as berthing/unberthing arrangements and port formalities, ensuring smooth vessel turnaround.
4. Safety & Emergency Handling:
- Ensure the safety of the vessel during its stay in port, strictly adhering to safety regulations.
- Inspect the operating condition of vessel equipment and facilities.
- Handle emergencies effectively and promptly (e.g., severe weather, equipment failure) to ensure the safety of personnel and the vessel.
5. Reporting & Documentation:- Prepare and submit operation reports, statements, and other required documentation.
Your profile

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Marine Navigation, Port & Shipping Management, or related majors.

Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in vessel navigation and cargo operations or as a Port Captain; familiar with the operations of various vessel types and port working procedures.

Professional Skills:
- Proficient in vessel handling, voyage planning, cargo planning and cargo operations.
- Familiar with relevant port regulations and international maritime conventions.

Competencies:
- Strong communication, coordination, and team management skills.
- Excellent emergency response capabilities and a high sense of responsibility.
- Ability to adapt to high-intensity work pressure and flexible/irregular working schedules.

Language Skills:
- Fluent in both spoken and written English, capable of communicating effectively with foreign personnel and international stakeholders.
Introduction
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Port Captain / Supercargo to manage vessel operations and cargo handling at domestic ports. The ideal candidate will act as the on-site representative, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of loading and discharging operations while maintaining strong communication with shipowners, terminals, and authorities. This role requires the ability to switch seamlessly between Chinese and English to handle daily tasks.
