Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
Part-Time Lecturer for AP6414 AI Generative Art
AP6414 AI Generative Art is a 13-week course exploring the principles of generative artificial intelligence and its potential to accelerate creative workflows. Students investigate key concepts, techniques, and tools used to shape and refine visual and textual outputs. The course emphasizes a critical analysis of Gen AI’s integration into artistic workflows, addressing advantages, limitations, originality, and ethical considerations. By exploring the role of language-based input methods and system programming, students develop a judicious understanding of how to apply these emerging processes to the broader field of game design.
Applicants to this position will be able to demonstrate expertise in generative AI systems and prompt engineering, with a deep understanding of how to manipulate digital systems to produce high-quality creative results. Applicants will be able to demonstrate passion in guiding students through both the practical application of AI tools and the critical analysis of their use. Given the rapid pace of technological change, the successful candidate must demonstrate a proactive commitment to staying current with evolving AI tools, software updates, and the shifting legal and ethical frameworks surrounding AI in the creative industries. You will ensure students learn to apply these processes judiciously while maintaining a focus on originality and professional integrity.
Candidates should have a relevant Master’s and/or PhD in Digital Arts, Computational Media, Computer Science, or Game Design with a track record of creative practice or research involving generative systems. Past teaching experience at the Undergraduate Level is preferred, specifically in areas that bridge technology and art. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and significant industry experience (such as GenAI- assisted Visual Development, AI Artist, Creative Technologist, or Research Scientist in Creative AI) may also be considered in exceptional cases.
