Job Summary

Provide sales-related Contract Services to the China, with minimal levels of supervision.

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, with minimal supervision by more senior Contract Services staff, including in: 

    • Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents, contractual requests and purchase requirements for our vendors; 

    • Drafting and negotiating with customers and/or vendors, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;

  • Takes the Contracts Lead role on

    • Less complex international and multi-BU project contracts;

    • Less complex frame agreements (single WA);

  • Takes the Contracts Lead role (including the Global Contracts Lead role on GSAP accounts) on more complex projects and frame agreements as experience develops;

  • Interfaces with customers, vendors, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;

  • Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;

  • Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;

  • Provides contract-related guidance to Sales, Project Management, Procurement and other stakeholders;

  • Participates in the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • 2-4 years of work experience in a contracts-related role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

  • Completion of IACCM Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Training Program to Practitioner Level strongly preferred

  • Intermediate MS Office skills

  • Excellent oral and written English [and any other language, as required] language skills [insert other languages are an advantage, as required]

  • Experienced negotiation skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles

  • Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties

  • Occupational Health and safety acumen
